Interview with "The New-Paper"
NP: First thing first, how you guys started this band?
BL: It’s started when we have nothing else better to do in a sunday afternoon. On new year’s day.
NP: Can you guys tell us what is the influence in your music?
BL: Our influence is on the songs, the painting, the photographs, the handle, the little bell thing on the bicycle, the rim, and of course the beef slices on Domino’s Hawaiian pizza.
NP: How you guys write your songs?
BL: The songs just happen. It’s a happening. *%^$*^)&^DS&^* We just sat there, came out with a brief concept, press the record button, start strumming the guitars and come out with words. It’s very natural. We love greens.
NP: To quote what you’ve stated about the band that Bicycle Lunch is a public band, how the people collaborate in making music?
BL: We collaborate with everything, the air, the water, our systems, anything that can make sound. But we dont collaborate with the band members, we’re not collaborating, we’re creating the universe! Together gether!
NP: what a pretentious stoner’s answer.
BL: *giggle to each other*
NP: You seem very comfortable and confident in singing your song. Any intention behind that?
BL: Singing is not a skill, its a way of expression, just like kissing the trees. It doesnt need confidence, we just do it. Express ourselves. Our intention is to sing something straight from the brain to the mouth. To deliver things we want to say in split second. Well, we don’t know what meaning it actually brings and what are the purpose of the songs either.
NP: Have you guys thought of cannibalize your own stuff?
BL: Yeah we do, we eat out songs all the time! We eat it and we go with the groove, we sing and dance all night long!
NL: That sounds great. Last question for today, what you guys usually eat during jamming?
BL: We eat the sound of our sweet voices and humming guitar sounds with hints of domino’s pizza aroma!
